One of the things our homeschool center
has at the end of each school year is a Karoke
Contest. This year my daughter had it arranged
to sing a song with one of her favorite teachers.
Her teacher's mom ended up sick last week and this week,
so the teacher was unable fo it. My daughter asked me if
I would sing with her. I don't really sing but I looked
in my daughter's eyes and the momma in me said
yes. A bit of a reluctant yes but none the less a yes.
We picked a song
"DO RE MI"
~We did a couple of practice runs

~I was so glad that the words were big enough
for my 40 plus year old eyes to see!
Then before we knew it it was
our turn and up we went. I pretended
my way through it! I always tell my
girls if you act like you know what you are
doing and pretend your not nervous people
won't catch on that you are! So I took my own advice!

For my daughter it was worth it. It gave hera moment to feel like she really was a singer and what an
honor that she finds me worthy to be her partner!
At the end of a busy day I can say,
"It was fun,
but boy am I glad it's done!!!"

Hi Mom of lots,
I wish for you and the kids a nice weekend of camping! The kids will love it and you will love it through their eyes! We made it through our song today! H was so excited! She felt so good about doing it. No amount of pride on my behalf would have been worth taking that away from her.
It is so late right now(midnight)..I best get to bed. Big weekend ahead here at the Ross' Our oldest leaves on her trip. I am excited and nervous all rolled in one. Again have a great camping trip! Talk to you soon! I will miss seeing you and your sister tomorrow! Fridays won't be the same!
PS today was hubby's and mines 27 years since our first date..just thought I would let you know! I know I know I was so young when we started dating...I must have been 2 years old!...bye
That is sooooo awesome!!!! I love karoke! That is so great that you were able to help your daughter out even when you weren't sure about it at first!
I love the pictures!! My husband and I love The Sound of Music and we have on occasion been found to sing this song (DoReMi) together around our house.
I have done Karoke in a couple of contests here...haven't gotten very far, but singing is one of my passions...maybe someday I will do more of it again.
Hope you have a wonderful day!!
